Views: The Eden Project – World’s Largest Indoor Rainforest, Cornwall, UK
There’s a rainforest in Europe? Apparently, yes – and it’s called the Eden Project! It houses the world’s largest covered rainforest, beneath a giant dome.
But it’s not an amusement park, but rather an educational centre and environmental organisation. The concept: Only those who experience and engage with the beauty of nature can also protect it. That’s why 100,000 plants from all over the world have been brought here, where they cover an area of some 50 hectares.
Not only the sheer number of plants is impressive, the building itself is, too: Two geodesic domes span the site as greenhouses – like massive soap bubbles sticking together. Our Euromaxx reporter Hendrik Welling visits the record-breaking Eden Project and to explore its biotopes and rainforest.
Winter Walks: Wengen In Central Switzerland (4K)
Wengen is a Swiss Alpine village in the Bernese Oberland region. It’s known for its timber chalets and belle époque hotels. The Jungfraubahn railway climbs to Jungfrau summit, with views of the Aletsch Glacier from the Sphinx observation deck. A cable car reaches Männlichen’s slopes and trails, with views of Eiger and Mönch peaks. South of Wengen are the Trümmelbach glacier waterfalls, accessed via underground paths.
Walking Tour: Piazza San Marco In Venice, Italy (4K)
Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

Ecuador is a country straddling the equator on South America’s west coast. Its diverse landscape encompasses Amazon jungle, Andean highlands and the wildlife-rich Galápagos Islands. In the Andean foothills at an elevation of 2,850m, Quito, the capital, is known for its largely intact Spanish colonial center, with decorated 16th- and 17th-century palaces and religious sites, like the ornate Compañía de Jesús Church.

Destination Culture: Discover Germany’s oldest castle! Hannah Hummel travels back in time in Albrechtsburg Castle. The site in Meissen used to house Europe’s first porcelain producer. Porcelain designers show Hannah how the material is being further developed today. She also visits the picturesque old town and learns the interesting story behind the Meissner Fummel – a unique pastry, where fragility plays an essential role.

Italian Villages: Walking Tour Of Pescocostanzo
Pescocostanzo is a comune and town in the Province of L’Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is a tourist destination, attracting people from all over Italy due to its landscape and environment. In winter, Pescocostanzo is a destination for skiers and snowboarders.
Austria Views: Dachstein Glacier Skywalk Bridge
The highest suspension bridge in Austria is located on the Dachstein glacier – Dachstein SkyWalk Bridge. It was opened at the beginning of July in 2013. This stunning 100-meter bridge is located near the town of Schladming. “Bridge to nowhere” will give you a dizzying view of the mountain landscape, but if you dare to walk on it. Then, you need to pass through the narrow staircase with 14 steps and you’ll see its main feature. It lies in that the bridge ends with glass platform. This is a small transparent observation deck which seems to be hanging over the abyss between the steep cliffs on the height of 400 meters. It is one of the most breathtaking viewing platform in the Alps!
Walking Tour: Nanjing In Jiangsu, Eastern China (4K)
Nanjing, capital of China’s eastern Jiangsu province, is roughly 300km up the Yangtze River from the city of Shanghai. It was the national capital during part of the Ming dynasty. Many monuments and landmarks remain, including Zhonghua Gate (Gate of China), a preserved 14th-century section of the massive wall that contained the old city’s southern entrance.
Aerial Views: Meteora Monasteries In Greece
The Meteora is a rock formation in central Greece hosting one of the largest and most precipitously built complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, second in importance only to Mount Athos. The six monasteries are built on immense natural pillars and hill-like rounded boulders that dominate the local area.
The word “meteora,” means “hovering in the air” which, whist a literal description of the famous monasteries, also shows just how otherworldly they seem.
The complex is made up of twenty-four Eastern Orthodox monasteries that were built on giant sandstone rock pillars between the 14th and 16th centuries.
